Hey I’m Gurleen and I’ll be your coach on Elevate!
With the knowledge I’ve gained from my personal health and wellness journey starting at the young age of 12 after being diagnosed with PCOS, qualifying as a Personal Trainer and working in one of the most prestigious health clubs in the UK, training for a bikini bodybuilding competition in my early 20s and helping 100s of women achieve their fitness goals I have gained a plethora of knowledge on how to burn belly fat, tone up, and most importantly how to maintain the goals you achieve with us Long Term!
When I first started working out I was in high-school, I would spend my lunch breaks in the school gym, this is where I learned the basic compound lifts. From here my passion grew and as I took more interest in the gym I got myself a gym membership. That was when the intense googling of ‘how to lose belly fat’ and ‘the best diet to tone up’ started, I ended up falling down the slippery slope of fad diets and extreme workout routines. I thought I was doing everything right but in hindsight I was just destroying my gut health and trapping myself in a box where I wasn’t able to eat the things I wanted in the name of ‘fitness’.
I knew I wanted to work in a gym so I got an office based memberships job at David Lloyd Clubs but became side-tracked forgetting why I started working there in the first place. Eventually as I became more experienced I decided to hire myself a PT to push myself further, but after a bad experience with the male PT this reignited my passion, stronger than ever, to become the change in the fitness industry.
I wanted to help women feel amazing in their skin so I started studying for my Personal Training qualifications, during which I also decided to sign up for a Bikini Bodybuilding Competition (yes it was a lot lol) and decided my hand at an online coach this time which helped me get to my lowest weight yet at 55kg. In hindsight I realise this was a very extreme approach to my goals and although I learnt a LOT about what to do I also learnt a lot about what it’s like to be in the clients’ shoes and how important it is not just to focus on the physical but also the mental aspect as well as habit-building.
Now, after years of following the wrong advice, cutting out all my favourite foods from my diet and thinking I had to go to extreme lengths to get the body of my dreams somewhere along the line I realised I didn’t have to do all this and that I get to feel incredible in my skin without having to make huge sacrifices to my social life, cutting out foods like chocolate and crisps and spending my entire life in the gym. I can truly say that I am finally in a position where I feel incredibly confident in my skin and am extremely grateful to be able to share my knowledge with women all around the world to help you avoid making the same mistakes I did and see better results without the years of trial and error before finding something that actually works long term!
